Energy Conservation in DLF Industrial Area : J.P. Malhotra

Faridabad, 27 February: Supported by Small Industries Development Bank of India Faridabad, DLF Industries Association has taken steps to promote and ensure that some enterprises get the energy audit done and take advantage of adequate Finance @ 2% lower interest rate irrespective of any other loans- said Mr. J.P. Malhotra, President DLF Industries Association.
At a meeting held with Sh. Praveen Aggarwal, GM SIDBI and Sh. Rajiv Aggarwal, as a Pilot project, 4 units of DLF Industries Association were taken up and the scheme of Energy Audit has started with Free Walk-in Audit followed by Detailed Energy Audit by a BEE certified Team of Expert Energy Auditors and Bhartiya Valves Pvt. Ltd. is First such unit where detailed Energy Audit has just been completed. Around 70% cost of this Audit has been subsidized by SIDBI – said Mr. J.P. Malhotra.
Even only Energy Audit is an eye opener. According to Mr. Gautam Malhotra, Addl. Director, the details studied and observed by the BEE Certified Team are a revelation as to what energy saving we can achieve even without investing money. The 5 men Team conducted the study for 3 days, measured the consumption, implemented some of the ideas and reduced the running time of the equipment for the same amount of production. Savings in Air Consumption, LDO Consumption are significant and result in huge amount of savings in addition to energy savings from repositioning of Lighting fixtures.
Mr. J.P. Malhotra thanked the SIDBI Faridabad GM Sh. Sanjay Goyal and Sh. Rishi Dwivedi who are the Nodal officers for this scheme. Giving details, Mr. Sanjay Goyal SIDBI informed that when the unit decides to buy equipments to implement the Energy Conservation Measures as per DPR, special terms of credit @ 2% lower than normal rate of interest would apply to 90% of funds required and financed by SIDBI.
President Mr. Malhotra joined by Sh. M.P. Rungta and Sh. Vijay Raghavan, Gen. Secretary DLF Industries Association suggested that MSME’s should take immediate advantage of this scheme for which Govt. of India has allocated a dedicated fund of Rs. 80 Crores. M/s. Cosmos Fibre Glass, Besoto Starting Systems, Sai Security Printers are some of the units going in. He appealed to all the MSME’s to come forward and get the Energy Audit done so that cost of production is reduced to some extent and you stay competitive and be able to sustain and grow.
